The Digital Media Center located at Southern Oregon University.

In this learning strand, participants will experience the production pipeline of a live TV studio-style broadcast journalism program including story assignments, post-production and live studio choreography.  This strand will also work on the skills needed to live stream events around the school and community. Participants will also be able to experience the production of a podcast and the development of one.

During the workshop, we’ll take the time to highlight the aspects of content management and the tools of technical construction that enhance the quality of a live broadcast. This will include strategies for organizing story ideas, acquiring quality audio media, shooting dynamic visual media, using non-linear editing tools and graphics creation.

This session is appropriate for all levels: advisers looking to upgrade the school’s morning announcements, digital art or journalism teachers hoping to integrate more media creation into their programs.
